Mr. & Mrs. Jenkins February 22, 2014 :: Pasadena, MD Wedding Photographer

February is over and that means spring is on the way!  This is great news for us here in Maryland because we’ve had quite an abnormal snowy, cold winter – thanks but no thanks, Polar Vortex!  But we’re beginning to thaw out a bit and the promises of spring are creeping into the Mid-Atlantic…longer days, warmer temperatures, and everything is getting a little bit greener each day.  One day in particular, February 22nd, was enough to make the SMP girls want to bust out our flip flops!  The sun was shining and temps soared close to 70*!  It must’ve been a special wedding gift to our very first SMP Bridal couple of 2014 – Barbara and Eric!

The weather wasn’t the only thing this couple had going for them!  From the moment we arrived, there was a strong sense of family.  We captured the moments of the bride applying makeup and getting into her dress, surrounded by her beautiful daughters, family and friends.  There was so much love in the room!  Once everyone was ready, they made their way into the limo and we took a short drive to the local beach on the Chesapeake Bay.

It was here on the beach, with the wide open sky and the glistening water, that the groom was able to catch his first glimpse of his gorgeous bride!  It was a breathtaking moment as he turned around and laid eyes on her in her stunning white gown for the first time.  The moment was perfect.

From there, we headed over to La Fountaine Bleue for the formal ceremony.  SMP loves special details, and there were two that stood out on Barbara and Eric’s day.  First, we noticed the SHOES!  The bride wore ruby red heels and all the bridesmaids and junior bridesmaids were decked out in ZEBRA PRINT!  So
much fun!

The second detail we noticed right before entering the chapel.  There was a small display board with a very special document on it – the marriage license of the bride’s late grandparents.  Alongside was a black and white photo of them.  Beneath the photo was a small message honoring their memory and explaining that the date, February  22nd, would have been Barbara’s grandparents 58th anniversary.  It was very memorable and special.

Everything else went along beautifully.  The ceremony was sweet and flawless.  The couple exchanged their vows and then it was time to party!   Derek and Don of Dance Masters Entertainment (www.dmdeejays.com) kept the music up, the mood fun and everyone dancing!!  Even the smallest members of the bridal party danced the night away!
Congratulations, Barbara and Eric!  We wish you the very best of all the years ahead!!
